The Huayhuash circuit is one of the classic trekking circuits in the World. The Huayhuash mountain range is very compact and steep. It is also home to the second highest mountain of Peru: Yerupaja Grande (6634 m). Visitors will see snow-capped peaks, glaciers, blue lagoons full of trout and beautiful scenery every day of the circuit. There are eight high passes to cross: the highest has an altitude of 5000 m! The circuit is not too difficult to complete but a certain degree of physical condition is required.

  • Day 1: Lima – Huaraz (3100 m)
  • Day 2: Acclimatization in Huaraz
  • Day 3: Acclimatization (Laguna Churup 4440 m)
  • Day 4: Huaraz – Pocpa (3350 m)
  • Day 5: Pocpa – Huain Quarter (4200 m)
  • Day 6: Quarter Huain – Lago Mitucocha (4220 m)
  • Day 7: Laguna Mitucocha – Laguna. Carhuacocha (4150 m)
  • Day 8: Lagoon Carhuacocha – Visit Laguna Síula
  • Day 9: Lagoon Carhuacocha – Huayhuash (4250 m)
  • Day 10: Huayhuash –Viconga Lake (4400 m)
  • Day 11: Viconga Lake – Huanacpatay Valley
  • Day 12: Huanapatay Valley – Huatía (3350 m)
  • Day 13: Huatía – Cashpapampa (4500 m)
  • Day 14: Cashpampa – Jahuacocha (4150 m)
  • Day 15: Jahuacocha – Visit lake Solteracocha (or an alternative day hike)
  • Day 16: Jahuacocha – Llamac – Huaraz
  • Day 17: Huaraz – Lima
