Visiting
Bolivia is a unique, unforgettable and authentic
experience. Bolivia is one of the most diverse
countries in the world, both in cultural
and ethnic terms as well as in bio-diversity.
The human richness of its inhabitants is
made up of more than thirty native ethnic
groups (Guarani, Ayoreo, Moxeño,
Aymara, Quechua) , mestizos, Europeans,
Japanese, Mennonites, Afro-Bolivians and
some other minorities. And if additionally,
you wish to see the diversity of cultural
expressions, dances, costumes or culinary
variety, the list is interminable.
If you are interested in nature at its wildest,
most diverse, harsh, solitary and surprising,
throughout the country you will find fascinating
places. More than 16% of Bolivia 's territory
is classed as protected, whether as national
parks, or in other categories of protected
areas.
Bolivia ranks sixth as the country with
greatest diversity in birds, eighth in reptiles,
tenth in mammals and eleventh in higher
plants. Even without coastal scenery, Bolivia
is a member of a select club of countries
which offer a sampling of most of the natural
riches of the entire world. In fact, the
country is blessed with a great variety
of ecosystems such as tropical forests,
Andean mountains, valleys, pampas, Chaco
, Pantanal etc.
The authenticity of the folklore, the untouched
scenery, the many national parks, the tranquillity
one feels while travelling, are some of
the many advantages of travelling in Bolivia,
in the heart of South America, the summary
of the continent.

Bolivia is a country of great
natural wealth and diversity.
It boasts world class mountain
ranges, barren highlands plains,
lush subtropical valleys and
vast expanses of tropical
rain forest and grasslands.
Few places can offer such
varied and challenging trekking
opportunities. The combination
of the elements makes Bolivia
a beautiful country with a
rich culture and stunning
mountain ranges.
There are more than 1000 peaks
over 16.500ft (5.000m) and
preserved roads climbing over
16.830ft (5.100m) passes.
The bolivian plateau is the
only one of its kind in the
world. The wide variations
in terrain, altitude and climate
make Bolivian wildlife extraordinary
diverse. As for the weather,
Bolivia is incredibly stable.
You will find greta climbing
under blue skies throughout
most of the dry season. The
Altiplano and the peaks of
Los Andes dominate western
Bolivia. With 60 percent of
the country`s population living
there, most of the treks will
start in the Altiplano.

This mountain range begins
in Peru and goes to the Southeast,
leaning to the South on the
highland of Lula at 4300m/14,330ft
and to the North on the Amazonian
jungle at 900m/3000ft. The
National Park of Ulla Ulla
is one of the most important
of South America and extends
along 2310miles. Rich wild
life and cultural wealth are
some of Apolobamba´s
highlights.
Although this range its not
too far from La Paz (578miles),
the fact that we have to follow
a dirt road in bad conditions
make the drive almost 10 hours
long. We will climb Cuchillo
Peak to acclimatize and the
Apolobamba highest peak Chaupi
Orco to finish. Cuchillo Peak
18700ft It is a pretty mountain
located in the middle of mining
land. This is a zone of golden
mines where we will find some
small mining communities,
some still active and another
abandoned.
Chaupi Orco 19950ft It is
the highest mountain of the
Apolobamba mountain range.
More than a mountain is a
massif since is formed by
5 summits, all reaching up
to 6000 m/19,800ft. The approach
deserves a visit by itself,
it is the best way to visit
this remote Andean area.
